WHAT THEY'RE ABOUT
If you like wind generators but you don't like heights, a TILT-UP TOWER may be the answer! Tilt-up towers are made from a center pole that is guyed every 20' and in four directions with wire rope (cable). The front set of guy wires attach to a gin pole and a set of pulleys that safely raise & lower your tower with wind generator on top. This makes your wind generator easier to install and easier to maintain. We have many types of towers and tower kits available to meet your needs.
TOWER HEIGHT GUIDELINES
Towers are sized according to the topography and obstacles at your particular location. The rule of thumb is to size the tower so that the bottom of your wind generator blades are thirty feet above any obstructions. Many residential wind electric system are installed on 80 foot or 100 foot towers.
WHY TALL TOWERS?
Power available in the wind increases exponentially with tower height. The taller the wind generator tower the less turbulence the wind generator is subject to and the smoother its operation. This translates into more years of trouble free service and higher power production.
